Wood Scale for Flooring and Building Materials
The meter's wood scale measures moisture from 6 to 40 percent--measuring from dry conditions (ideal for fine furniture) up to the fiber saturation point (about 24 to 30 percent). The large range means the meter can be used in high-humidity and low-humidity environments and on a variety of locations, such as wood studs, floor joists, subfloors, and EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems).

Reference Scale for Concrete, Plaster, and Insulation

Pin-type meters provide more accurate readings than surface meters because their tips come into direct contact with the material being measured. If you ever deal with materials that have been exposed to surface moisture, a pin meter is the best measurement tool because its readings are not skewed by this factor.

Plus, the Delmhorst BD-10 is built with a special connector for an external electrode, such as the Delmhorst 26-ES (sold separately), which allows you to take surface and core moisture content readings to a maximum depth of 1-1/16 inch.
